The SkiWelt is Austria's largest interconnected ski area. In 1977, the mountain railways from six locations between Brixental and Wilder Kaiser merged: the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental was born.

The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental covers nine villages, Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Kelchsau, Scheffau, Söll and Westendorf, from where the ski domain is accessible by ski lifts.

The ski area reaches all the way up to a snowsure altitude of 2,000 meters above sea level, with the slopes located further down in the valley serviced by a network of snowmaking machines to ensure top conditions throughout the season. It has 90 Cable car lifts and Ski lifts, 280 Kilometers of pistes, and ski routes. You can dscover one of the largest and most modern ski resorts in the world on the newly signposted SkiWelt Tour. The tour can be enjoyed in a clockwise (green signs) or anti-clockwise direction and skiers can start and end the tour in any of the SkiWelt villages.

The resort's 80 mountain huts are the ideal place to stop off for a drink and a snack, while the enchanting Igloo Village and sun lounge made from natural ice are well worth a visit at the top of the cable car in Hochbrixen, next to the Panoramarestaurant Bergkaiser.

From the season 2021-2022 SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental and KitzSki offer the most demanding skiers a new challenge, the longest ski circuit in the world connecting the SkiWelt with the KitzSki ski area. Ski fanatics will be able to ski from Going am Wilden Kaiser through the Kitzbühel Alps all the way to Hollersbach in the Hohe Tauern without setting foot on the same slope twice.

Access into the KitzSkiWelt Tour is possible from 8 locations in the SkiWelt (Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Going, Hopfgarten, Itter, Scheffau, Söll and Westendorf).

While skiing we can enjoy unique panoramic views of the Wilder Kaiser Mountain range and over 70 three-thousand mountains up to the Großglockner (3,798), the highest mountain in Austria and the highest mountain in the Alps east of the Brenner Pass. The Kaiser Mountains offer some of the loveliest scenery in all the Northern Limestone Alps.

The SkiWelt was awarded for being the most ecological ski area in the world several times. The entire SkiWelt has been operated for many years with 100% green electricity from Tyrolean hydropower.
