The Val di Fassa is one of the most beloved valleys of Trentino. Here you’ll find some of the most renowned peaks of the Dolomites: the Vajolet towers (part of the Catinaccio group the Torri del Vajolet  are probably among the most photographed peaks in the Dolomites), the Piz Boè and the Sassolungo- Langkofel.

Val di Fassa is part of the ladin area in Dolomites. Local persons from these valleys speak normally ladin among them.

Val di Fassa is among the most renowned ski areas of Dolomites, boasting 7 different ski areas, 210 km and 150 ski runs, all linked by modern ski lifts or by convenient ski bus services. The Val di Fassa offers a range of legendary ski tours such as the Sellaronda, the Panorama ski tour, the Tour of the Great War and the ski tour of the Alpe Lusia-San Pellegrino.

In Val di Fassa you can choose between 4 ski passes:

The pass for Val di Fassa-Carezza is valid on all lift facilities from Canazei to the Costalunga pass. Includes seven ski resorts: Passo Fedaia (Marmolada), Ciampac (Alba di Canazei), Belvedere (Canazei), Col Rodella (Campitello di Fassa), Buffaure (Pozza di Fassa, Aloch, Fraine and Pera di Fassa), Catinaccio-Rosengarten (Vigo di Fassa) and Carezza.

The "Valle Silver" ski pass grants access to 4 ski areas (Val di Fassa-Carezza, Val di Fiemme-Obereggen, Alpe Lusia-San Pellegrino and San Martino di Castrozza-Rolle Pass) and 382 kilometers of slopes.

Val di Fassa is one of the 12 ski areas (Val Gardena - Alpe di Siusi; Alta Badia, Arabba-Marmolada, Val di Fassa - Carezza, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Kronplatz, Hochpustertal, Three Peaks, Val di Fiemme - Obereggen, San Martino di Castrozza - Rolle Pass, Alpe Lusia - San Pellegrino, and Civetta) of the Dolomiti Superski Ski Paradise, one of the biggest ski areas in the world with 1,200 kilometers of slopes, modern cable cars, and fabulous mountain scenery all around.

Canazei is located in a beautiful natural basin at the foot of one of the most evocative peaks of the Dolomites. Canazei, with its four outlying areas of Gries, Chieva, Alba, and Penia, is surely the most renowned town of Val di Fassa nationally and internationally due to its strategic position by the Dolomite passes of Pordoi, Sella, and Fedaia.

In winter Canazei is the skiing capital of Val di Fassa, placed right in the heart of the Sellaronda Skitour and Dolomiti Superski.

The mountain hut Rifugio Maria offers the best view atop the Dolomites in Trentino: it is an extraordinary belvedere 2,950 m a.s.l. towards the Marmolada, Sassolungo, Ortles, Cevedale, the Grossglockner and the Tyrolean Alps. Past the slopes of the Sass Becé Tour (Canazei-Arabba-Pordoi), you climb up with the cable car to Sass Pordoi. Freeriders can ski downhill along the Forcella Pordoi, Val Lastìes or Val Mezdì.

A true paradise for skiing enthusiasts, the mountains of the valley are the ideal environment for your winter experience. Besides skiing, a holiday in the Val di Fassa also means treating yourself to a well-earned rest. Here it is almost obligatory to relax under the winter sun on the terraces of mountain huts or lodges and enjoy some of the local cuisine.
